The Blanchard Institute to Open November 2016
Charlotte, North Carolina (PRWEB) November 04, 2016 -- Charlotte, North Carolina will soon welcome an outpatient mental health, addiction treatment and family services center. The Blanchard Institute brings world-class treatment, services and resources to individuals and families seeking help for substance use disorders and mental illness. The Blanchard Institute plans to open their facility at 10348 Park Road, mid-November and will host an opening ceremony in the spring of 2017.
The Blanchard Institute was created to make a difference in battling one of this country’s most severe healthcare crises. “Behavioral health and substance use disorders are a silent epidemic in our society,” said Ward Blanchard, founder and CEO of The Blanchard Institute. “Our healthcare system is not set up to properly help, treat, and service a whole family system that’s in healing from trauma when one of its family members is ill with mental illness or a substance use disorder.”
The Blanchard Institute facilities feature the work of interior designer Brianna Conrad of B.home. The Blanchard Institute is mirroring the successful approach of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in using art as a healing element and has commissioned an art curator out of Los Angeles to consult with Conrad in choosing the art collection for the walls. “Every detail and nuance of the whole organization is intentional,” says Blanchard, “with the purpose of healing, positivity and acceptance.” All aspects of the facility are intended to inspire a sense of warmth and comfort, feeling inviting as opposed to the medical or clinical settings of many treatment facilities.
The Blanchard Institute has already scheduled multiple events at the facility, beginning with a co-hosted luncheon event with Carolina’s Addiction Recovery Coalition. The lunch and learn will feature Jack Kline, CEO of Red Oak Recovery, as he presents information on trauma-informed care for young adults. The lunch and learn will take place Nov. 18 from 12-1:30 p.m. Attendance is limited, so please RSVP to reserve your spot.
