(NASDAQ: WSTG) today announced that Simon Nynens, the company’s Chairman and CEO, was honored November 1, 2016 by SmartCEO as one of New Jersey’s Top CEO’s with their Corporate Culture Award. The SmartCEO’s Corporate Culture Awards program honors companies fostering a creative, collaborative workplace environment that has helped enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage. Winners were chosen by an independent committee of local business leaders. In addition, all honorees will be profiled in SmartCEO magazine.
Mr. William R. Botti, Executive Vice President, Wayside Technology Group touted Mr. Nynens entrepreneurial spirit to motivate his employees. “Simon continues to champion a positive and performance-driven work environment, particularly with our recent office relocation to our new Eatontown headquarters. Since joining Wayside Technology Group in January 1998, Mr. Nynens has held various positions including Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in January 2006, and later that year as Chairman of the Board. Under Nynens’ leadership, Wayside has been profitable and has paid dividends to shareholders for the past 55 consecutive quarters (as of 30-Sept-16). For 2015, Wayside posted record revenues of $382.1 million and net income of $5.8 million. Wayside subsidiaries include Lifeboat Distribution, an international distributor of software products and services; and TechXtend, a leading value-added reseller of software, systems and solutions across the United States and Canada. During Nynens’ leadership, the company was also recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey for three consecutive years.
A graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, Mr. Nynens currently serves as a member of New Jersey Technology Council Executive Committee, and a member of the President’s Leadership Council for the Stevens Institute of Technology. Past honors and awards include Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in 2011 in the New Jersey Technology Services category and named Public Company CEO of the Year by the New Jersey Council (NJTC) in 2012.
