(PRWEB) November 04, 2016 -- A list of the 2016-2017 Best Online Colleges in Virginia has been released by leading online higher education information provider AffordableCollegesOnline.org. Measuring a dozen different data points provided by schools across the state, a total of 28 colleges received honors, with Liberty University, Hampton University, Old Dominion University, Virginia Baptist College, Regent University, Southwest Virginia Community College, Mountain Empire Community College, Tidewater Community College, Thomas Nelson Community College and Northern Virginia Community College earning the highest marks.

To qualify for the AffordableCollegesOnline.org Best Online Colleges in Virginia list, schools must meet specific base requirements. Each institution must hold accreditation and be a two- or four-year public or private not-for-profit entity. Minimum affordability standards must also be met, with each two-year school on the list offering annual in-state tuition under $5,000 to qualify and each four-year school offering annual in-state tuition under $25,000 to qualify. From there, each school is scored and ranked based on more than a dozen different data points as specified in the link below.
