The Head of School, Tim Russell, of Lexington Christian Academy (Lexington, MA) announced that Oluwafikemi P. Faleye of Billerica, MA and Siqi Wangqian of Lexington, MA have been named Commended Students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by the Head of School to these scholastically talented seniors.
“This achievement confirms what we know about Oluwafikemi and Siqi’s academic success at school. We also know them to be great leaders of our student body in their roles as prefects. Because of their character and work ethic, we are confident they will make strong contributions to the academic world and to their communities,” says James Talkington, Director of Upper School.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2017 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2017 competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
