Over 40bn Euros of Deals Announced on Tech M&A Deal of the Year 2016 Shortlists

Global giants such as SoftBank, Alibaba, Avast, Equinix and Cinven make the Technology M&A Deal of the Deal 2016 Shortlist, which features deals in ecommerce, semiconductor, security software and datacentres and hosting.
Deal volumes are at record highs in the technology sector, as vertical integration and convergence increases and companies look to consolidate or enter new markets. Advisers represented on the list include: Goldman Sachs, Lazard, UBS, Barclays, Jefferies, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, Greenhill, Oakley, JP Morgan, HSBC, Deutsche Bank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
TMT Finance also this year announces the new Mid-Cap Technology M&A Deal of the Year Award, which recognises deals valued at under E1bn in EMEA and Asia. This shortlist also includes an exciting and diverse mixture of transactions, including gaming, communications tech, software and managed services, represented by companies such as Interoute, TPG, Apax France, Vivendi and Charterhouse.

Equinix acquisition of Telecity £2.35bn
Telecity was advised by Goldman Sachs, Oakley Capital, Barclays and Greenhill & Co. Equinix was advised by JP Morgan
Cinven, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board purchase of Hotelbeds.com: E1.19bn
Financial advisers to CPP and Cinven were Lazard, Morgan Stanley and HSBC. TUI advised on the deal by Deutsche Bank and BofA Merrill Lynch.
