Award Winning Fine Art Photographer Laura Cope Announces New Photography Collection Named "The Wine Country"

Laura, who is renown for her photography projects on landscapes and horses, is now inspired to tell the story of wine-making through her lenses. “I've always been fascinated by wines and the science/art behind their creation. I wanted the experience of these images to be equally as exhilarating to our eyes as tasting a great wine is to our taste buds and I think we’ve accomplished just that.”
Laura decided to look for inspiration in the vistas of the California and Oregon Wine Countries. “I wanted to shoot wineries that were off the beaten path, those hidden gems that only the true connoisseurs would know about." During her project, Laura visited 12 wineries spanning nearly 10 days. “It was an adventure but mostly a learning experience for me. I now have a completely different understanding and appreciation for the art of wine-making. It’s always inspiring to see the passion and excellence at play in the creation of special things." Laura, who was an orthodontist in a former life, gave up her career to pursue photography. She has had her work exhibited in many prestigious venues including the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art. Laura is an international traveler and nature photographer who is known for her evocative work with black and white images. Laura believes it is the relationship between her subject and the background that plays a more pivotal role in provoking thought. “When color is no longer a distraction it frees up the mind to dig deeper into the photo.” Laura is excited for you to join her in her journey through wine country, to explore its mysteries and beauty.
