Uniform Advantage Participates in American Cancer Society Making Strides Walk
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) November 09, 2016 -- Uniform Advantage (UA), a leader in the healthcare uniform provider industry successfully donates over $5,000 to the Making Strides Organization with a number of companywide breast cancer awareness initiatives. UA has been walking in the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Broward County Making Strides Walk since 2009.
Uniform Advantage launched their annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign throughout the month of October. A multitude of combined efforts supported UA’s donation of $5,054 to the Making Strides Organization. UA succeeded in raising this money through a social media campaign called Paint Your Page Pink where UA donated $1 for every new UA Facebook page like and for every new UA Instagram (@uniformadvantage) follower during the month of October 2016. Alongside of online donations, the employees at UA organized internal fundraisers, as well as participated in the Making Strides Walk.
“It is a great event and it brings so much awareness,” said Lori Nadeau-Dunlap, VP of Marketing who started UA’s companywide participation in the Making Strides Walk. Explaining why she began the companywide initiative to take part in this event, “We all know someone who has been effected by this disease. We either know someone or have been directly impacted ourselves. As a company, I thought it was important that we come together and show our support to a cause that effects people we love and do our part to help everyone who has been impacted.”
To date, UA’s partnership with ACS and participating in the Making Strides walk has raised more than $41,000 to help breast cancer awareness in the past eight years. All funds raised by UA will directly help and assist the ACS Making Strides organization in their mission to fight and end breast cancer through early detection, accessible mammograms, and information and services for their patients.
