Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) November 09, 2016
Birkman will have a leading presence at the 2016 American Institute of CPAs Controllers Conference, as Pauline Le, CPA, CGMA, CITP, and VP of Finance at Birkman, is on the Steering Committee to help direct the annual event. CFOs, controllers, accounting managers, treasurers, and financial directors will be present at the two-day event in Las Vegas this week.
This year, the AIPCA Controllers Conference will focus on Strategies to Chart Your Next Career Milestone. Notable speakers from across the US will provide organizational strategies and address how controllers can contribute across different departments to make a larger impact at their companies. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend pre-conference workshops, learn from accounting leaders from many industries, and hear from world-renown economists, financial consultants, and high-profile controllers.
Le, who has been directing finance at Birkman for over ten years, has been a member of AICPA since 2005, actively involved in its development since 2012, and on the Steering Committee of the Controllers Conference since 2015. As a part of the Steering Committee, she meets several times a year with other contributors to collaborate and establish the conference theme, as well as leverage networks to recruit speakers.
She expresses her excitement for the event, "The Controllers Conference is closely related to my area of expertise and offers a wealth of knowledge-sharing from well-respected national speakers. Having the opportunity to impact a conference that offers meaningful learning for AICPA members is both an honor and a privilege. It is a great way to give back to the profession while learning from my peers and inspiring other accountants to add value to their organizations."
"Birkman helps accountants become more aware of our personality strengths and challenges (as in any other profession)," explains Le. "Accountants' roles are evolving with constant changes in the business environment, and many of us struggle with the unknowns, yet do not know how to effectively influence business decisions. For accountants in management roles that adhere to the CGMA Competency Framework, Birkman helps greatly develop the competencies of people skills and leadership skills to empower communication and growth."
