Artists Receive Awards at Annual SLCC President's Show
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) November 11, 2016 -- The 2016 President’s Art Show opened Nov. 9 at the Salt Lake Community College South City Campus in the Center for Arts & Media’s Multipurpose Room, where several artists received awards. This year’s annual juried event drew from more than 280 entries and celebrates the works of dozens of local professional and amateur artists with the hope of bringing together people from across the community.

The artwork will remain on display until Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday (closed Saturday and Sunday). Many of the pieces, representing multiple mediums, are for sale.
SLCC’s Center for Arts & Media is a state-of-the-industry facility at the South City Campus, 1575 South State Street, Salt Lake City. World-class features include a 2,000 square-foot television studio and control room, a 3,000 square-foot film stage, a 36-seat screening room, three MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) classrooms, 22 editing bays, an animation lab, radio station and a recording studio with 64 channels that allow for collaboration in editing locations throughout the building. The new center, which is physically connected to Innovations High School, serves an estimated 9,000 students and brings together 17 programs under one roof for SLCC’s School of Arts, Communication and Media.
