"A Celebration" Americana Manhasset 2016 Holiday/Resort Campaign

This month Americana Manhasset debuts its full color 68-page Holiday/Resort book entitled, “A Celebration.” Holiday and resort ready-to-wear, accessories and jewelry from the most luxurious brands in the world are captured in a high-style picture book starring a diverse array of models.

To celebrate this sense of self-expression, and as a final homage to Americana’s first 60 years, we chose to feature an assemblage of talent that are as diverse and original as the clothing they wore.

2016 marks the 60th Anniversary of Americana Manhasset and the Holiday/Resort campaign is the visual finale of a year-long anniversary celebration. Photographed, produced and styled by Laspata/DeCaro, the campaign was shot in multiple studios and on various streets in New York City.

In a departure from Americana’s previous books, which often feature one female and one male model for a narrative effect, this book features 19 models of different ethnicities, styles and backgrounds, ranging in age from under 20 to over 60. Donna Mitchell and Pat Cleveland, iconic models from the 1960’s and 1970’s respectively, are featured, as is the incomparable Alek Wek with her legendary smile. Jacquetta Wheeler and Ben Shaul also make appearances, as do a crop of rising stars in the modeling world. The result is a stunning assortment of individuals and a celebration of individuality.

“The concept for the campaign was born pertinent to the collections themselves, where a ‘have it your way’ attitude is prevalent,” said Charles DeCaro in an editorial feature within the book about the dynamics of the shoot. “A message of individuality rings loud and clear. To celebrate this sense of self-expression, and as a final homage to Americana’s first 60 years, we chose to feature an assemblage of talent that are as diverse and original as the clothing they wore.”

Americana’s Holiday/Resort Book is direct-mailed to 130,000 targeted households. The images are being featured in national and regional print ads in publications such as The New York Times, T-Styles magazine, The Wall Street Journal magazine and The World Journal newspaper, as well as in various digital media such as nyt.com. The campaign is also being shown prominently throughout the season on Americana’s website, americanamanhasset.com and featured on Americana social media outlets.
