Anderson Municipal Light and Power Partners with Indiana Fiber Network, LLC to Enable Organizations via Fiber Optic Connectivity
Indianapolis, Indiana (PRWEB) November 14, 2016 -- Indiana Fiber Network, LLC (IFN), the leading Indiana statewide Network Service Provider, announces that Anderson Municipal Light and Power (AML&P) has established an interconnect relationship with IFN. The two organizations have partnered to provide the Anderson area with expanded fiber optic data service options.
The AML&P affiliation with IFN has worked on both the engineering and marketing sides. “We do not want to compete with private sector providers. AML&P did not initially deploy fiber to make money, but rather to provide reliability, security, redundancy, and savings for city offices. We have no intention of becoming an Internet Service Provider, but we did want connectivity options for existing and future businesses in Anderson,” says Darren Grile, Network Supervisor at AML&P.
“IFN operates over 4,100 miles of fiber across the State of Indiana, so I have seen my share of fiber plant; Anderson has one of the best fiber infrastructures in the state. IFN brings carrier neutral fiber connectivity options to businesses via AML&P, that benefits their entire customer base. IFN does not build fiber in their service area. We value our relationship with AML&P and use them exclusively as the local fiber provider in their franchise area. Municipal partners can be a great class of fiber providers for IFN because they have a long-term vested interest in their local community,” said August Zehner, IFN Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
