Apvera Secures $1.7M in Funding to Transform and Simplify Threat Intelligence
Singapore (PRWEB) November 15, 2016 -- Apvera, a leading threat intelligence company in Singapore, today announced that it has closed a S$1.7M round of financing, led by ACP and SPRING SEEDS Capital. The round also included participation from Asia-based Nest Ventures, muru-D of Singapore and existing investors, Central Exchange. As part of the financing, Mr. Surinder Kathpalia, Director of ACP shall be joining Apvera’s Board of Directors. The new funding will be used to develop and scale Apvera’s Insight 360 threat intelligence platform, and accelerate its go-to-market and sales execution efforts; increasing the platform’s ability to detect, prevent and predict warning signs associated with potential endpoint behavioral security threats.
“We firmly believe that automation and machine learning is the way of the future and a key ingredient in identifying threats through behavioral intelligence,” said Sameer Narula, Managing Partner of ACP. “Apvera has built an impressive platform demonstrating that companies can no longer afford to take the same static path to detecting threats and just how eagerly the market is embracing this new approach”
“Thanks to the support we have received from governmental organizations such as SPRING Singapore, Singapore is the perfect location for us to build our business and expand it to new clients – not just in ASEAN, but also globally,” said Eric Meyer, CEO Apvera. “We would like to thank each of the investors who have validated our technology and have provided us with on-going guidance through this round of funding. For us, the next step is to deploy this capital in a structured way that will help us achieve a new level of global traction and scale.”
Given the ever-increasing scope and tenacity of targeted cyber-attacks on businesses, organizations and governments, Apvera diverges from the widely-accepted notion that advanced threat protection alone will be a vital aid in defending against advanced threats. Signature-based methods of threat detection, are no longer acceptable. Apvera is transforming the security industry through the application of user and entity behavior analytics, bringing real time endpoint profiling and anomaly detection leveraging advances in machine learning. The Apvera Insight 360 platform adopts an internal and external view, with lateral movement modelling of endpoint activities; combined with threat intelligence derived from within an organization’s perimeter. The self-learning, multi-dimensional behavioral analytics platform examines all user, endpoint, application and network activities, providing a comprehensive 360-degree view of the organization’s security posture.
Apvera is targeting various industries with a tailored use case approach, offering a range of innovative business solutions which help solve complex industry challenges. For instance, Apvera helps financial services businesses protect their intellectual property, sensitive client data and business-critical infrastructure as well as satisfying regulatory compliance. Financial services firms face a growing number of stringent industry and government regulations and these data protection and privacy mandates increase regulatory compliance costs and risks. Automating risks management and compliance programs is one way an organization can seek to improve its cyber-resilience.
“Today’s Cybersecurity and risk realties are driving corporate boards in the financial services industry prioritize defense of their digital assets,” said Ranodeb Roy, CEO & CIO of RV Capital Management. “Apvera has figured out how to effectively address business technology risks by allowing organizations to make sound, risk-informed decisions based on a highly relevant industry-specific threat profile.”
In order to address emerging risk, organizations need access to the latest security models that can anticipate and respond immediately to any type of threat. Apvera is simplifying Cyber Security through use-case based packaged analytics that can pinpoint the exact security risk and then make an appropriate action in a timely and effective manner.
