Family owned and operated Sonoma wine country favorite celebrates family milestones

Catelli’s restaurant in Sonoma County, California announced today their 80th anniversary that concurs with the 80th birthday of patriarch and former owner of Catelli’s, Richard Catelli. Catelli’s will be celebrating these two major family milestones with a celebration this evening, November 16, 2016 at Catelli’s restaurant. They will also run specials throughout the year starting today with an $0.80 special for a week on a favorite original menu item, a cup of their minestrone soup.

Catelli’s has been through a few changes in the many decades it has been open but still has a handful of the original recipes on the menu and remained a local favorite among patrons. Third generation siblings, Domenica and Nicholas Catelli, took ownership six years ago. They have been recognized with several awards and accolades, including “Best Local Restaurant,” and “Best Italian Restaurant” in Sonoma County, and Domenica has been named as one of the top four chefs in Sonoma County.

“We are so happy to celebrate these major events with our community and friends,” said executive chef and owner of Catelli’s, Domenica Catelli. “We are honored to continue the legacy of serving friends, locals and visitors from across the globe as if they are part of our family. That is the backbone of Catelli’s success for all these years.”

The celebration kicks off tonight with a birthday party for Richard Catelli at 6:00 p.m. at Catelli’s restaurant, with a 1940’s theme to honor the era of their beginnings. Legacy Sonoma County wine makers are planning to attend and to make brief comments on the historic importance of Catelli’s in wine country.

Coincidentally, another 4th generation Catelli member was born recently to Nicholas Catelli and his wife Anna, named Santi Catelli, after the founder of Catelli’s and his great grandfather. Having much reason to celebrate, Catelli’s restaurant welcomes all to participate in the specials and events in the coming year.

The restaurant was originally known as Catelli’s "The Rex" (the "king" as translated from Latin).
