“Merging The Trade Group’s award winning design team and stem-to-stern engineering, production, installation and logistics expertise with Aston’s knowledge and visibility in the retail fixtures market was a perfect fit,” Stone says.

In the thirty years since The Trade Group designed its first trade show display, the company has created several proprietary display lines, facilitated client event marketing programs and created a wide range of branded spaces for organizations big and small.

Like its newly launched Event Services division, The Trade Group’s decision to expand into retail fixtures and displays evolved naturally over time.

According to Chris Stone, President and Founder of The Trade Group, “We’ve specialized in designing branded spaces in trade show and corporate environments for decades. Our clients regularly ask us to carry over our design capabilities into retail applications for them, so designing and building custom, branded, retail displays is something we’ve been doing for quite awhile now.”

With the retail division growing organically, Stone decided to make a serious commitment to expanding the retail business proactively. He brought on Aston Haswell as Business Development Manager for the division due to his experience with retail fixtures and displays for the outdoor, optical, footwear and apparel industries.

“Merging The Trade Group’s award winning design team and stem-to-stern engineering, production, installation and logistics expertise with Aston’s knowledge and visibility in the retail fixtures market was a perfect fit,” Stone says.

The Trade Group recently made several key investments in equipment for its production, design and printing departments, so the company now completes the vast majority of client projects in-house.

As Haswell explains, “We rarely reach out to external resources to meet client needs. You’ll find design, branding, logistics, printing, engineering, fabrication, production and quality control experts under one roof here, and I can leverage that expertise when approaching brands in the retail space.”

The company’s rapid prototyping capabilities also benefit retail clients. “Rapid prototyping is another service we offer brands in the retail fixture space. Being able to create prototypes in-house can save clients time and money. Instead of waiting several weeks for a prototype from overseas, we can build a fully-finished, full-scale prototype of the fixture – we may even use our 3-D printer for smaller units – and deliver it to the client within a few weeks. That means no long shipment delays or costly expense for expedited air shipping,” says Stone.
