Letters can be attached to the straws to spell what you want, whether you’re trying to teach your child a new word, say happy birthday or even put a person’s name on each straw so they can keep up with their cup or glass at a party.

Spelly Straws, buildable and customizable straws that are perfect for snack time, playtime and party time, are already a hit with crowdfunding backers -- having surpassed a $10,000 campaign goal within one day after the product was introduced on Kickstarter.
Inventor and 3D artist Randy Stein, came up with the idea for Spelly Straws one day after playing with his young son. In creating letters that can be attached to straws to help children learn to spell, Stein realized they would also be fun to use at parties and other special events.
“Letters can be attached to the straws to spell what you want, whether you’re trying to teach your child a new word, say happy birthday or even put a person’s name on each straw so they can keep up with their cup or glass at a party,” Stein said. “Whatever it is, you can say it with Spelly Straws. As we like to say, they are ‘strawsome!’”
Stein says Spelly Straws are a great educational tool that make learning to spell fun, creative, and functional for children – but beyond that they are “fun for anyone of any age.”
In addition to their educational use in classrooms and for tutoring or home schooling, they can be used for celebrating all occasions including:
- Dining (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack time, picnics)
- Holidays (Valentine’s Day, New Years, Christmas, Hanukkah, Easter, etc.)
- Parties (sports parties, themed parties, etc.)
- Personal Celebrations like birthdays, weddings, anniversaries or housewarmings
Spelly Straws are now available at an early-bird discount starting at $9 for 44 ‘spelly pieces’ during crowdfunding – that can also be shipped by Christmas Day if ordered soon.
