AONN+’s Seventh Annual Navigation & Survivorship Conference Features Cutting-Edge Content, Presentations by Industry Leaders and the Profession’s First Certification Exam
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) November 17, 2016 -- This week, more than a thousand oncology professionals from across the U.S. and Canada are gathering in the “entertainment capital of the world,” not for the shows, but for education.
During the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigator’s (AONN+) Seventh Annual Navigation & Survivorship Conference, healthcare professionals from across the cancer care continuum are gaining valuable insights and cutting-edge ideas, sharing oncology navigation best practices, and discussing treatment trends and challenges. The conference is taking place at the Aria Resort & Casino (Las Vegas) from November 17 – 20.
At this year’s conference, AONN+ is delving into some of the hottest topics in navigation and cancer treatment – from Commission on Cancer standards to advances in personalized therapy and survivorship.
As a nationally recognized leader in the effort to standardize and bring value to the navigation profession, AONN+ is also administering the Oncology Nurse Navigator-Certified Generalist™ (ONN-CG) and Oncology Patient Navigator-Certified Generalist™ (OPN-CG™) certification exams. AONN+’s certification effort is spearheaded by a specially selected task force comprised of AONN+ faculty members and respected education professionals.
In addition to recognizing this year’s recipient of the Oncology Nursing Excellence ™ (ONE) award, AONN+ will announce the winner of its coveted Hero of Hope™ award during a special “old Vegas” themed cocktail event. The Hero of Hope™ award honors an individual living with cancer who is contributing to his/her community through fundraising, advocacy or other means.
The conference rounds-out with poster presentations and awards that highlight and recognize peer research.
