For the 13th year in a row, Samahita Retreat is hosting a Christmas and New Year’s Yoga Retreat in Thailand. There are two back to back week-long programs, one from December 23 through December 30, and the other from December 30 through January 6. Participants are invited to sign up for either or both weeks on the Samahita Retreat website at http://www.samahitaretreat.com.

About The Christmas and New Year’s Retreat

World renowned yoga teacher & Samahita Retreat’s founder Paul Dallaghan will guide participants through a vast range of yoga practices, including sitting meditation, focused breath work, and physical asanas. Elements of the YogaCoreCycle program are also included, allowing guests to experience the full spectrum of yoga practice and fitness classes. Whether participants are brand-new or highly experienced, interested in exploring new aspects of yoga or delving more deeply into their existing practice, the retreat truly offers something for everyone.

The tone of each day will gradually build through different physical energy levels, from silent sunrise classes to invigorating mid-afternoon fun-cycling. Participants are free to attend any or all sessions each day, depending on their individual mood and purpose that day. The goal is for all guests to end the retreat feeling uplifted and ready to move forward with their ongoing yoga practice.

The first week focuses on asana practice and the physical expression of yoga, while the second week is geared more toward the philosophical side of yoga, clearing out the detritus of the old year and welcoming in the new. However, the floor is open for questions on all things related to yoga during both weeks.

On Christmas Eve, a gala celebration will feature a gourmet feast along with a charity fundraiser and special guest musicians including Bibi McGill, lead guitarist for Beyonce and former student of Paul Dallaghan. New Year’s Eve focuses on a fire ceremony that will help participants heal from the previous year and set their intentions for the new year and a rockin trans-dance session with DJ Bibi McGill

Early December Retreat with Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman

For those who prefer to spend the actual holidays at home, Samahita Retreat also offers an early December retreat. From December 3 through December 10, legendary teachers Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman will host this mid-season getaway. Two yoga classes per day are on the agenda, with a free day midweek to explore the area, deepen personal practice, or simply relax. This retreat is an excellent opportunity to learn from two acclaimed yoga teachers, and to enjoy a break during the busy holiday season.
