Public Benefit Corporation Powur PBC announced today a breakthrough approach to accelerate the adoption of solar energy worldwide. Beginning 2017, Powur will expand its platform, enabling solar providers anywhere to service customers generated by its sales force of 3,000+ passionate solar entrepreneurs.

Powur CEO and Founder Jonathan Budd said, “If we’re to see a meaningful slowdown in global carbon emissions, we must accelerate the adoption of solar energy. After three years in development and 18 months in market, Budd said Powur’s new multi-provider approach enables the company to partner with any solar provider anywhere in the U.S. and the world. Powur expects to acquire solar customers in every market of the United States by the end of 2017, with international expansion on the immediate horizon.

“Until now, solar companies that have attempted customer acquisition at scale have tried to do it by themselves, which is incredibly expensive,” said Budd. “By developing our technology platform to make it seamless to integrate with every range of solar provider across the planet, we will be able to cover more territories without incurring the expensive infrastructure costs of scaling solar. Combined with our social selling model, we are in a position to help providers grow consistently and cost effectively in every market we enter.”

Powur has built a national network of 3,000+ direct selling social entrepreneurs and generated more than 12,500 U.S. homeowner leads for SolarCity, its first provider partnership. In just 15 months this resulted in tens of millions of dollars in contract value.
