Taiwan Tourism Bureau Invited Hip American Chef Gabe Kennedy to Taiwan for a Culinary Journey This Month
(PRWEB) November 17, 2016 -- Besides the sensational flavors that Taiwan gourmet has to offer, the beautiful tradition of "Eating Locally, Savor Seasonally" is what makes Taiwan cuisine so special. This year, Taiwan Tourism Bureau especially invited chef Gabe Kennedy aka Green Gabe, the season three winner of ABC's cooking competition series "The Taste," to visit Taiwan for an unique culinary journey. His itinerary is designed based upon the themes of Farmer, Fishermen, and the Aboriginal Culture, incorporating local cooking experiences to strengthen Taiwan's Farm to Table food culture, promoting the island's green and healthy eating. The curated journey features an in-depth adventure showcasing Taiwan's abundant nature offerings, unveiling a side of Taiwan that is less familiar to the U.S. travelers.
Gabe Kennedy, praised by Anthony Bourdain as the America's most undiscovered cook, is an executive chef at the prestigious food magazine Bon Appétit and the host of a CW cooking segment; he is also an avid advocator of the Farm to Table food culture. Gabe started his culinary training since the age of 14; growing up in an environment surrounded by nature, his cooking technique embodies the perfect combination of the green and sustainable philosophy, with an incredible craft on making both tasty and visually stunning dishes. He draws inspiration from local produce and resources to create wonderful flavors, a style that goes in harmony with Taiwan's healthy local food culture. This Taiwan journey will guide him through the Aboriginal village to experience traditional cuisine like the bamboo rice and the festive millet wine, the Yilan organic tea farm for a hands-on tea pastry lesson, and surfing at the Wushih Harbor along with discovering and tasting a seasonal seafood feast. Another highlight of this trip is the close interaction and engagement between Gabe and the different local Taiwanese chefs; through these inspiring cooking lessons, he will be able to share a taste of Taiwan and recipes that can be recreated in the U.S. upon his return.
A special thank you to EVA Air for sponsoring the flight tickets for this trip where Gabe and his team get to immerse in Taiwan's charming friendliness and providing an impeccable in-flight experience along with exquisite dining.
