The Houston Chronicle has awarded Phonoscope LIGHTWAVE, now PS LIGHTWAVE, the designation of a Top Workplace in Houston 2016. The Houston-headquartered telecommunications company ranks 53rd among 70 companies within the small business category. This is the second time PS LIGHTWAVE has received a Top Workplace in Houston award. The first award was in 2015.

Top Workplace award winners are determined based on the results of employee surveys administered by Workplace Dynamics LLC, a management firm focusing on organizational health research. Out of 280,000 companies in Houston, Workplace Dynamics selected 1,496 companies of 50 employees or more to participate. Companies were judged based on weighed responses to 23 survey questions to determine “how companies measure up in key areas including direction and values, execution on plans, connection with employees, training and work/life balance, relationships with managers, employee engagement, and pay and benefits,” according to an award letter received by PS LIGHTWAVE from John C. McKeon, president and publisher of the Houston Chronicle.
Workplace Dynamics reviewed the results of the surveyed companies and selected a final group of 150 Top Workplaces for 2016, which were split into three categories: 30 large companies, 50 mid-sized and 70 small companies.
