Mediaplanet’s “Lung Health” Campaign and The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer Bring Lung Cancer Awareness to the Forefront this November
(PRWEB) November 18, 2016 -- With lung cancer being the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, it is crucial to raise awareness about the research and promising developments that are bringing screening, detection, and treatment to the next level and encourage patients and clinicians to join the fight.
The digital campaign of “Lung Health” is distributed nationally, through a vast social media strategy and across a network of top news sites and partner media outlets. To explore the digital version of the campaign, visit Mediaplanet’s Future of Personal Health web page.
With Lung Cancer Awareness Month being this month, Mediaplanet is enlisting The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), among others, to foster wider awareness about the progress in research and care for lung cancer. Since the 1970s, the IASLC has promoted research into all aspects of lung cancer and thoracic malignancies, as well as encouraged worldwide cancer prevention efforts. The association’s membership includes more than 6,000 lung cancer specialists in over 100 countries.
This campaign was made possible with support from The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, a leader in research and education, informing the world’s leading lung cancer specialists on best practices in the study, screening and treatment of lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies.
The IALSC holds annual world conferences, which include tracks for patients and advocates (and free registration for patients), opening up communication between those who treat lung cancer and those who live with it. The conference brings together leading clinicians and scientists from around the world to engage in international collaboration in the fight against lung cancer.
The IASLC 17th World Conference on Lung Cancer is taking place following Lung Cancer Awareness month on Dec. 4-7 in Vienna, Austria. Unlike many conferences that are only for clinicians, the IASLC WCLC welcomes lung cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and advocates to ensure deeper understanding and collaboration among all stakeholders. To join the fight this Lung Cancer Awareness Month, visit the LCAM website. More information pertaining to IASLC WCLC can also be found on the association’s web page.
