FIS Group’s Tina Byles Williams Wins Markets Choice Award for Women In Finance
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) November 21, 2016 -- FIS Group, a manager of U.S. and global developed, emerging and frontier markets equity portfolio strategies, today announced that its CEO and CIO, Tina Byles Williams, won a Markets Choice Award for Achieving Diversity in Asset Management.
“This is a great honor and I’m grateful that the work we do is being recognized for making a difference in supporting the principles and practice of diversity in global asset management,” said Tina Byles Williams. “I started FIS Group as a fund-of-funds, focusing on boutique firms all over the world, because I knew these managers, many of which are women or minority owned, can and do deliver significant value. Through our commitment to diversity we have demonstrated that value for investors.”
FIS Group has nearly $5 billion in assets under management and is one of the world’s leading “manager of managers” with expertise in identifying and constructing funds comprised of emerging and principally minority and/or women owned investment firms that have a high probability of performance success. To date, FIS Group has brought over 160 investment firms into its portfolios, 60% of which are women and minority-owned.
The Markets Choice Awards for Women In Finance, in its second year, kicked off Markets Media Week on Tuesday, November 15. The luncheon, featuring the ‘best and the brightest,’ recognized some of the most talented and accomplished women in multiple categories across the buy-side and sell-side trading desks, institutional investors, hedge funds, exchanges and technology providers. Candidates and winners of the awards were selected via interviews with senior markets participants who are their colleagues, customers and competitors, as well as online submissions from Markets Media & Traders Magazine’s subscriber bases. The Advisory Board then chose the most deserving recipients.
FIS Group has achieved notable recognition for its unique and valuable perspectives and expertise in the emerging manager and asset management space. Both the firm, and Tina Byles Williams, have been the recipient of several prominent industry awards including, Savoy Magazine’s ‘2016 Top 200 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America,’ Black Enterprise Magazine’s ’75 Most Powerful Blacks on Wall Street,’ the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund Award of Excellence, the National Association of Securities Professionals’ Maynard Jackson Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and recognition from Mustard Seed Communities for their philanthropic activities.
FIS Group has offices in Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco.
