National Personalized Learning Organization Seeks Innovative K-12 EdTech Companies to Join 2017 Product Pilot
CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) November 21, 2016 -- LEAP Innovations, a national 501(c)(3) social enterprise that works with educators and innovators to discover, pilot and scale personalized learning technologies and innovative practices, is seeking education technology companies with software or applications that support personalized learning to be part of a year-long pilot in Chicago schools beginning in Fall 2017.
The Pilot Network, LEAP Innovations’ flagship program, connects edtech companies to Chicago-based educators to implement and evaluate personalized learning practices and tools. Piloting educators receive extensive professional development throughout the program to support faithful implementation of the products they select to pilot.
Participating companies will receive:
• High-fidelity implementation for pilots;
• Visibility with district and school leaders at Chicago Public Schools, as well as Chicago’s charter and Catholic schools;
• Feedback from LEAP’s world-class selection panel of experts from business, learning science, and education; and
• Both quantitative and qualitative feedback about products based on student and classroom outcomes.
During LEAP Innovations’ first year of pilots, students across the piloting classrooms saw results equivalent to closing the achievement growth gap for low-income students by 45 percent. Additionally, 86 percent of schools adopted the edtech product they piloted, and 100 percent of educators would recommend the Pilot Network to peers.
“In today’s ever-growing market of education technology solutions geared towards personalized learning, schools and educators want to know that the tools they use are actually effective,” said Phyllis Lockett, CEO of LEAP Innovations. “The Pilot Network gives both teachers and companies valuable feedback on how schools are using specific education technology applications, what is working, and what might be improved.”
Currently in its third year, the Pilot Network has previously partnered with companies including Lexia, ThinkCerca, ST Math and Think Through Math. This year, LEAP Innovations is seeking applications that provide K-8 Math and ELA content that enable personalized learning, offer classroom tools to help teachers implement standards-based grading, support students in demonstrating evidence-based learning, provide teachers with formative feedback, and enable students to pace their learning.
The pilot includes research on product efficacy and exposure to schools in the third largest public school district in the U.S., the nation’s largest archdiocese district and leading charter school networks.
