About AJ Ghent Band
AJ Ghent Band is a four-piece family band that constructs an indie-rock sound howling from the church to the blues. With a style that can be defined as fresh, yet reminiscent of music of times past, electrifying, and rootsy- what they like to call NEO BLUES.
The band is led by AJ Ghent [ j-ent ], who comes from a long lineage of pioneering steel guitar players. His great uncle, Willie Eason originated the sound known as 'Sacred Steel' as early as the 1930s. The legacy continued through AJ's grandfather, Henry Nelson, and his father, Aubrey Ghent Sr., all which are noted in the The National Museum of African American History and Culture.
AJ Ghent Band promotes originality by incorporating the 'Sacred Steel' sound of music along with a modern presence. The mission of AJ Ghent Band is to take every listening ear on a musical safari full of soul, rock and blues elements, lightly frosted in hip-hop and EDM.
Stylistically, and musically, AJ Ghent Band works to stick to the root of it all—from the depths of the dirt when songs of hardship were sung to help you overcome.
Eddie’s Attic is located at 515 N McDonough St, Decatur, GA. Event tickets can be purchased at http://www.ajghentband.com/shows
