Quake Capital Partners Launches $250,000 Student-Focused Accelerator Program to Bring Innovation from University to Market
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 22, 2016 -- Quake Capital Partners (Quake) today announced the launch of its first Accelerator Program to support innovative and revolutionary early stage startup projects. The industry agnostic program gives driven and passionate entrepreneurs access to up to $250,000 in early stage capital, which is considerably more than most other high profile accelerators, including big names such as Y Combinator and 500 Startups. Quake offers startups access to its extensive investor and mentor network, as well as first class working facilities in New York City. Applications are currently being accepted for the Spring 2017 Cohort. For more information, visit http://www.quakecapital.com/en-us/.
While the Quake Accelerator Program welcomes applications from all entrepreneurs, it was designed with a strong university focus to give rising student entrepreneurs the opportunity to advance their ideas and their businesses.
“Some of the most successful startups, many rising to unicorn status with multibillion dollar IPOs, have originated from student entrepreneurs,” said Glenn Argenbright, Quake’s Founder and General Partner. “We launched Quake to find and nurture these emerging talents and help bring their unique vision to market. “
Once accepted into the program, Quake works directly with each team to raise any follow-on capital needed to support their startup. With a network of over 300 investors, including venture funds, family offices, and high net worth individual investors, Quake helps startups access the resources crucial to early stage success. Along with its investor contacts, Quake boasts a mentor network of over 200 experts across a spectrum of industries and subject matters, providing a powerful opportunity for entrepreneurs to refine their products and go-to-market strategies with leading experts in their field. In addition, Quake portfolio companies gain access to a uniquely robust manufacturing network with over 100 factory relationships to assist in all aspects of design, production, testing, and logistics.
Out of the Classroom and Into the Market
The Quake Accelerator Program is open to entrepreneurs all over the world. Each cohort features a small class size to ensure maximum attention and interaction with each startup. In-house experts and special guest advisers provide 14-weeks of intense hands-on training to improve help each startup improve its value proposition, distribution, sales, messaging, monetization, and capitalization. The small class size allows the Quake Team to work daily with each portfolio company, helping drive them closer to their goals.
“We are hands on in a non-intrusive way at Quake, and if we do not believe we can amplify the value of a company, we will not invest. Plain and simple,” said Chad Burgess, Co-Founder at Quake.
Strong partnerships with an ever-increasing number of universities mean Quake provides an unprecedented opportunity for student entrepreneurs to launch their business. In addition to its accelerator program, Quake also hosts a monthly University Investor Series (UIS). The monthly series allows ten university teams from all across the United States to participate in a virtual pitch-fest to top pre-seed and early seed investors. UIS is open to all current matriculated university students that are founders of an active, operating company with an MVP or working prototype. Each team participating in the series is given ten minutes to present their ideas followed by a ten minute question and answer session.
“Our goal with doing the investor series is to help talented students find early funding for their ventures, and serve as a catalyst to help grow their businesses,” said Brandon Maier, Co-Founder at Quake. “We hope to track and follow those who successfully participate in our University Investor Series so that over a 6 to 12 month period they can launch their business and potentially return to us for follow up investments or participation in our Accelerator program.”
Quake seeks to fund strong entrepreneurs with strong teams that provide innovative products and solutions scalable to national and international markets.
