MeYou Health president and COO to speak at AHIP Consumer Experience and Digital Health Forum
Boston, Mass. (PRWEB) November 23, 2016 -- On December 7, 2016, Trapper Markelz will go beyond the hunt for Pokéballs, Jigglypuffs, and Pikachus and dig into the more complex dynamics of the Pokémon Go experience. In his talk titled “The Success of Pokémon Go and What Health Care Can Learn from It,” Markelz will discuss the mechanics that turn a player’s game world into one filled with exploration and reward, and how this translates into more exercise, improved social interaction, and heightened cognitive abilities for those who play.
Markelz will also explore bigger questions about the relationship between health and games. What can we learn from this exciting combination of mobile tech, augmented reality, and gamification? What can we genuinely apply to health care experiences to boost engagement or population health impact, and what is best left to the games? He’ll discuss current trends and take a look toward the fascinating future of games and how we can harness their potential to improve wellness. He’ll also explain how gamification plays a central role in the design and development of MeYou Health interventions. These include Walkadoo, a walking program that saw a spike in participation with the release of Pokémon Go, and Daily Challenge, an intervention that promotes one small healthy action each day.
