AP Breaks Ground on Wayzata Mill Street Parking Structure
Wayzata, MN (PRWEB) November 22, 2016 -- The City of Wayzata has selected Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) to build the new Mill Street Parking Structure. The City had a need for additional parking, so the design team was tasked with repurposing a surface lot and designing a parking structure. The new structure will be built into a hillside; this along with the City’s desire to have the project completed before the 2017 tourist season, encouraged design-build elements such as a retention wall that is in tight proximity to the property line/public.
The project team of AP, HGA Architects and Walker Parking Consultants broke ground for the new 375-stall, 93,700 square-foot parking structure on November 3rd. Work will consist of a cast-in-place concrete structure with a post-tensioned cable 2nd floor deck. Exterior façade will consist of precast panels, metal wall panels and decorative wood cladding. AP teamed with Veit to propose a drilled anchor lagging system as a solution for the retention design-build wall.
Construction will continue through the winter and is estimated to be complete by summer 2017. AP looks forward to continuing our strong working relationship with the City of Wayzata and adding another successful parking structure to their resume of projects.
