Frederick, Maryland (PRWEB) November 25, 2016
The D.C. and Maryland Breastfeeding Coalitions (DCBFC and MDBFC) announced the recipients of their 7th Annual Regional Breastfeeding-Friendly Workplace Awards on Friday, November 18, 2016. DCBFC and MDBFC are nonprofit organizations which unite breastfeeding advocates, healthcare providers, and families. iHire was recognized with the Gold-Level Workplace Award (Small Size Business).
This year’s winners made up the largest and most diverse group in the award program’s history. Businesses were judged on their size and the accommodations they provided to breastfeeding employees. Based on the number of amenities and processes to support breastfeeding, businesses received the awards at Gold, Silver, or Bronze level.
Amenities that iHire offers include a private, spacious, and comfortable room, multiple refrigerators for milk storage, and complete schedule flexibility for taking breaks.
“We strongly support our employees in achieving wellness as well as work-life balance and are honored to receive this award. iHire employees’ families are just as important to us as our staff themselves,” said Vickie Krolak, PHR, CP-SHRM, iHire’s Administrative Manager. “We understand the many benefits of breastfeeding and want to ensure our new moms have what they need to continue providing breastmilk for their babies should they choose to do so.”
“Each one of the businesses receiving a Breastfeeding-Friendly Workplace Award or a Health Care Provider Award is a role model for our region in how to support breastfeeding families. We are so proud to honor them,” said Dr. Dana Silver, Past President of the MDBFC.
