Kabbage’s Nationwide “Elevator Pitch” Contest Names Supafly Skate $10,000 Grand Prize Winner
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 08, 2016 -- Kabbage®, the leading financial services data and technology platform, today announced the small business pitch contest finalists and grand prize winner. Kabbage is excited to reveal that Junior Lubin, owner of Supafly Skate Company, Inc., is the $10,000 grand prize winner and recipient of a private, one-hour business consultation with entrepreneur and investor, Lori Greiner.
Launched in September 2016, the nationwide contest gave small business owners a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to deliver their best business growth pitches directly to Ms. Greiner. The contest received hundreds of video submissions from entrepreneurs located across the United States. A panel of judges evaluated and selected the five qualifying finalists based on product innovation, business use case, and growth potential.
Founded in Elmont, NY, Mr. Lubin launched Supafly Skate Company in June 2016 to engineer and manufacture the fastest and most durable skate bearings on the market today. He will use the grand prize winnings to expand inventory, grow customer service operations, and develop the company’s online and mobile app presence.
“This has truly been an exhilarating opportunity,” said Mr. Lubin. “As a small business owner, it’s empowering to know that the greater business community cares so deeply about the growth and success of entrepreneurs everywhere.”
The following “Elevator Pitch” finalists received a $1,000 consolation prize to help grow their business:
Shane Clarke, Tran’s Martial Arts & Fitness Center
When Shane walked through the doors of Tran’s Martial Arts-Fort Collins as a young man, he never dreamed he’d someday own the business. After serving in the United State Military and training in martial arts around the world, Shane purchased Tran’s and began training his own students. Now, Shane runs programs like kids’ self- defense and an after-school pickup program that provides bully prevention and leadership training. Moving forward, he plans to buy equipment that will allow him to expand the after-school programming he offers.
Stephen Ezell, My Green Fills
Stephen and his partner, Ruth, started My Green Fills to make a dramatic impact on the chemical industry. Their business provides a reusable laundry jug and soap refills to reduce packaging waste and free laundry rooms of toxic chemicals. In 2017, Stephen and Ruth are launching a campaign to harvest pollution from oceans and turn that trash into lifetime warranty refillable jugs.
Traci Maughan, Mumberry Maternity Activewear
Mumberry Maternity Activewear provides crucial belly and back support to help women throughout healthy pregnancies. When Traci and her co-founder both became pregnant while developing their first collection, they used their own experiences to perfect their clothing designs. Moving forward, they plan to expand their brand awareness and distribution to reach more women who want to continue living an active lifestyle during pregnancy.
Kalil Mohammed, Club MO Fitness As the founder of Club MO Fitness, Kalil’s mission is to inspire people to live a life worth living. He founded Club MO on a simple philosophy: remove “gymtimidation” and the conventional obstacles of getting healthy. His business offers in-home and on-site personal training, corporate wellness programming and in-studio programs. Club MO is planning to expand its presence across America through franchising to positively impact the masses.
