Stantec Brings Bold Interiors and Exteriors to New Atlantis University Campus
Miami, FL (PRWEB) November 28, 2016 -- Architecture and design firm Stantec has begun the interior design work for Atlantis University’s new campus located at 1101 Sunnybrook Road in Miami’s Health District. The firm was tasked with designing the business and technology school’s 28,000 square foot facility, which includes administrative offices, classrooms, student areas and lounges, with the objective of enhancing the academic experience, while cultivating a vibrant student life.
“The school wanted a dynamic space that reflected the needs of an innovative learning environment within a stylish, creative setting,” said Eric Holland, principal, Stantec’s Miami office. “The new design will serve as another recruiting tool for the school’s continued expansion.”
The school’s interiors are designed as minimalist spaces with bright blue walls with exposed ceilings amid polished concrete floors and light woods with bursts of bold colors that reflect a hip, industrial vibe.
The classrooms are divided by plywood and specially-designed tinted glass partitions in hues of blues and greens, and are equipped with state of the art technology.
The school’s auditorium is a wide, open floor space awash in natural light, pale woods, with pops of vivid colors and flexible, adaptable meeting sections.
The college’s lounge areas are designed as a refuge with muted woods and scattered greenery highlighted with intense red accents that help create an atmosphere conducive to student congregation and interaction. The outdoor terrace on the 8th floor will feature a colorful lounge area, as well as a coffee shop incased in a shipping container that is a focal point of the school’s exterior.
The project is expected to be completed by Spring 2017.
