The Chicago Car Club Sponsors The Drive to Defeat ALS
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 29, 2016 -- 10/19/2016 - House Akros proudly partnered with the ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter, Chicago Car Club, and Loud Interactive for a once in a lifetime event.
The "Drive to Defeat ALS" event brought dozens of people together at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL to get a feel for what modern supercars are capable of on a racetrack, while simultaneously raising awareness for ALS. House Akros, a new professional networking firm, aims to establish life-long connections by getting people together to participate in thrilling events, rather than attending a simple board meeting.
Brent Payne, the CEO of House Akros and Loud Interactive, decided this would be the perfect opportunity to do something extraordinary while benefiting a great cause.
"This is what I do, because I'm an extreme kind of guy, but I also want to do this for charity," said Payne.
ALS Developmental Director, Maryilene Blondell said she is thankful for Brent’s involvement and his understanding of the fact that people who suffer from ALS still want to live life to the fullest.
“What better way to do that then to have the opportunity to drive some of the most coveted sports cars in the world,” said Blondell
"That strikes a chord with me and I figure if there’s any charity I’d like to shine a light on, it’s the ALS Association", said Payne.
Each participant had the opportunity to ride along with a professional racing instructor from Xtreme Xperience and then have a go behind the wheel. For most of the participants, this was their first time on a racetrack and their first time in a supercar, an experience not soon to be forgotten. After the driving portion of the event, there were a handful of cars on display for the crowd to sit in and take pictures with.
As a proud sponsor, Chicago Car Club offered transportation services for the event and brought out their DeTomaso Pantera for photo opportunities and a bit of a history lesson.
Founder of Chicago Car Club, Mike Widdes, said the company was thrilled to participate in this event.
"It was a phenomenal opportunity to connect with industry leaders across the board who all share a common goal to drive awareness for an important cause," said Widdes.
House Akros, Chicago Car Club, LOUD Interactive, and the ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter all hope to come together again in the near future to host another successful event.
