Stormpath Launches European Region for Identity Management Service
San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) November 25, 2016 -- Stormpath today announced the launch of a European Enterprise Region to help European developers isolate user data wholly in-region. The new region is based in the AWS data storage center in Frankfurt, Germany to support some of the strictest privacy regulations in the EU. This new region will not only improve login latency for EU-based end users of Stormpath customers, it will also help European developers comply with EU privacy and data isolation regulations.
EU User Data Isolation
The new Stormpath EU region offers all the features of the public Stormpath API, including user management, token authentication, multi-tenancy, multi-factor authentication, and authorization. Stormpath enterprise customers can choose either the US or EU Enterprise Clouds — or both — to run Stormpath on infrastructure dedicated to the EU region. This provides powerful global identity management with isolated, geo-located infrastructure.
Developer-Friendly Identity for European Enterprises
Stormpath is a robust identity management API for software teams building web, mobile, and API-driven applications. Powerful, pre-built authentication, authorization, and user management eliminates the cost and security risks of developing and maintaining user management in-house.
With Stormpath, developers can launch applications faster and focus on the core features that make their projects a success. Stormpath’s advanced security measures safeguard user data and promote compliance.

“The goal of Stormpath is to free up developers’ time so they can focus on what really matters to their product and business,” said Les Hazlewood, co-founder and CTO. “Managing users in the cloud is complicated and risky; we can put years of security expertise and best practice in their applications in less time than it takes to make coffee.”
EU-US Privacy Shield Compliant
Stormpath has long been proud to comply with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries, when their data resides in Stormpath’s US region. Stormpath has certified that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles of Notice, Choice, Accountability for Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity and Purpose Limitation, Access, and Recourse, Enforcement and Liability.
