Curio Spice Co. Launches First Retail Spice Shop in Cambridge, MA
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) November 26, 2016 -- Curio Spice Co., Boston’s first directly-sourced spice store has opened its first brick and mortar spice shop at 2265 Mass Ave in North Cambridge, MA just in time for the holiday season. Founded in Somerville in 2015, the company’s products have only been available previously at specialty food and gift retailers in New England, farmers’ markets and online at http://www.curiospice.com.

The shop is nestled amidst other small artisan food businesses on the same block, including Spindler Confections, Nussli 118 and Urban Hearth on the block next to Pemberton Farms just beyond Porter Square on Mass Ave.
The shop, a modern ode to a traditional apothecary, is filled with light and natural tones, amber bottles lining a large built-in shelf complete with a sliding ladder. The natural objects and antiques collected from Cheney's travels around the world create a soothing atmosphere where customers can relax and dream up delicious meals. Over 50 pure spices, flowers and herbs, from rare wild black fennel seed to local rosemary, can be smelled from small sample jars lining the shelf, while on the opposite wall customers can explore Curio's signature spice blends and accessories like mortar and pestles.
"Our shop is the perfect destination for culinary gifts, as we offer lovely gift boxes of our blends, as well as unique pepper grinders and handmade ceramic spice bowls." Cheney said, "We feature basic spices for your pantry as well as hard-to-find spices such as organic Tabasco chilies or kaffir lime leaves. It's why our tagline is ‘Spices for the curious cook!’”
