~NogginSeek™ Peek & Seek Cognitive Rattle helps parents encourage their baby’s critical early milestones and lay the foundation for all future learning.

“Parents and grandparents are a child’s first teacher and toys are tools for learning. The NogginSeek Peek & Seek Cognitive Rattle helps encourage critical early developmental milestones through play.

SmartNoggin (SmartNogginToys.com), creator of toys designed to help babies reach critical learning milestones, launched its NogginSeek Peek & Seek Cognitive Rattle. The toy builds on the success of SmartNoggin’s first two developmental toys, the NogginStik Developmental Rattle and the NogginRings Reaching & Grasping Rings, to give parents learning tools and information to help encourage their child’s early developmental milestones through play.

The NogginSeek is designed for babies ages 3 months +. It is a Developmental Milestone Maker™ that promotes awareness of object permanence, rattle play, wrist/forearm rotation gross and fine motor skills, cognitive and language learning. The toy features a clear sphere that baby can see and observe along with a textured handle that is sized for easy grasping, which helps baby to hold and shake the toy. A striped tube slides in and out of the handle for visual interest and to encourage wrist rotation. Beads hide in the striped tube when the rattle is held upright piquing baby’s curiosity and encouraging awareness of object permanence. When baby shakes the toy, the beads spin with the movement baby’s wrist creating baby’s first lesson in physics, and ultimately, STEM learning.

“All children are born learners. They just need a little encouragement,” said Marcia Haut, founder and chief executive officer, SmartNoggin. “Parents and grandparents are a child’s first teacher and toys are tools for learning. Introducing a simple rattle has a tremendous impact for parent interaction and encouraging critical developmental milestones through play. Our NogginSeek Peek & Seek Cognitive Rattle isn’t just a cute baby rattle, it has a powerful purpose—helping all children reach their full potential.”

Ms. Haut, Purdue University graduate and early childhood developmental therapist, has spent more than 30 years working with children with developmental delays. During this time, she found it difficult to find ideal toys “learning tools” to help babies learn and reach developmental milestones. Seizing this opportunity, Haut embarked on becoming a toymaker herself and founded SmartNoggin.

The NogginSeek Peek & Seek Cognitive Rattle is the latest expansion of award-winning products from SmartNoggin that include NogginRings Reaching & Grasping Rings, honored with two 2015 Oppenheim awards, and the company’s flagship product—the NogginStik Developmental Light-Up Rattle—launched in 2012 and has since received numerous accolades.

The NogginSeek Peek & Seek retails for $16.99. It can be found online and in specialty shops just in time for the holidays and has recently been named a National Parent Product Award (NAPPA) winner. Every SmartNoggin toy also comes with a Parent Guide to Baby’s Milestones, which helps parents identify monthly achievements from birth to blowing out the candle on the first birthday cake.

About SmartNoggin
With over 30 years of experience as a teacher and early childhood developmental therapist, SmartNoggin founder Marcia Haut set out to create a company with a simple and ambitious goal – help parents lay the foundation for all future learning. As a front-line provider and developmental therapist for children with special needs and a mother, Haut was frustrated that she could not find a product to encourage important early milestones in infants. The product line currently consists of three products—NogginStik, NogginRings, and NogginSeek—with plans to expand Milestone Makers developmental products.
