We’ve added several new features to make DiskImage easier to use, making it more powerful than ever before.

Laplink Software, Inc. today announced the release of its newest version of Laplink DiskImage, its advanced backup and recovery software. New features make DiskImage twice as fast as before, more user-friendly, more efficient, and can help users easily move to Windows 10.

Data loss can happen to anyone. Whether it’s an accidental coffee spill, a power surge, or a particularly nasty bit of malware, data loss often occurs without warning.

“Most PC users don’t think about what might go wrong with their PC in the future,” stated Thomas Koll, Laplink’s CEO. “They don’t believe a catastrophic event will happen to them or they think a backup process is too much of a hassle. But DiskImage makes the backup incredibly quick and simple; perfect for everyone.”

Getting started with Laplink DiskImage is easy. The enhanced one-click imaging feature allows a user to start the process with a single click. A new “Plug-and-Play” feature allows users to select files and folders to back up automatically on a regular schedule when an external hard disk is connected to the computer. DiskImage also performs constant monitoring and can prompt if a full image or backup is overdue.

Users can choose to create an all-inclusive image for complete hard drive recovery or add an incremental image that includes only what has changed since the last backup. DiskImage can be used to restore everything (including the operating system) or only selected data.

Standard ISO files can now be mounted as data image files or virtual hard disks. Images of virtual hard disks can be converted into DiskImage file formats and vice versa. DiskImage also now supports EFI/UEFI systems in addition to classic BIOS.

“We’ve added several new features to make DiskImage easier to use, making it more powerful than ever before,” added Koll. “For example, there’s an enhanced interface that allows DiskImage to be integrated with other applications. But the key feature is full optimization for use with Windows 10, providing the best possible backup experience. And it’s still a critical part of best practices for moving from an old PC to a new one using PCmover Image & Drive Assistant.”

PCmover® Image & Drive Assistant™ provides users with the unique ability to restore any image or hard drive to a new PC without overwriting the operating system. Other imaging software replaces a user’s new Windows system with the old version of Windows. With PCmover Image & Drive Assistant, users can bring all their files, settings, and applications from the old image (or hard drive) to the new PC quickly and hassle free, without overwriting anything on the new PC.

Laplink DiskImage is the perfect complement to PCmover Image & Drive Assistant. Use DiskImage to make a full image of the old PC. Then run PCmover on the new PC, automatically transferring everything to the new PC while keeping the image as a complete archive of the old computer.

The newest version of Laplink DiskImage is available direct from Laplink at http://www.laplink.com or from most software retailers for under $40.
