The Gildred Companies is pleased to announce the re-opening of its newly remodeled Ocean Point project in Carlsbad, California. Located at 5411-5451 Avenida Encinas, Ocean Point is an 82,991 square-foot office park that was formerly a drive up concrete industrial park. The year-long project has transformed the space into a mixed use project including both industrial and creative work space. Featuring an ocean-close, park-like environment with a bold design that resonates with tenants and prospective tenants, the demand for the park has exceeded all expectations.
The Gildred Companies partnered with Jamie Looney of Unite Pacific Inc., a North County commercial consulting group, along with Bob Wilkinson of Wilkinson Design Group and Dick Lund of Grupo Pacific to reimagine the landscape and building architecture modifications. The group worked together to significantly enhance the architectural appeal of the buildings and at the same time repurpose the existing underused and water inefficient areas. The team brought the vision to life while keeping the entire project on task.
“It was quite an undertaking,” said Gregg Haggart, The Gildred Companies’ CEO. “We had a vision to renovate the park adding new outdoor areas and enhancing the existing space to create an environment that enables enjoying the weather and amenities at the coast, and ultimately helping our business tenants attract and retain talent.”
The property makes the most of its ideal location and the area’s near-perfect climate. Ocean close with the beach easily accessible by bike path the park also offers easy access to the Coaster and the 5 freeway. Located west of Interstate 5 between Canon Road and Palomar Airport Road the evolution of the property was inspired by recent attention to this “micro market” in Carlsbad and its desirable environment for businesses. Future plans include electric or solar vehicle charging, bikes-to-go for rent on site and the ability to utilize reclaimed water from irrigation as soon as that option becomes available.
