Housing Policy Veteran Meg Burns Promoted to Collingwood Group Partner
Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 30, 2016 -- The Collingwood Group, a Washington, DC-based business advisory firm, is proud to announce the promotion of Meg Burns to Partner. Burns joined the firm just two years ago as Managing Director and has successfully leveraged an accomplished career in housing policy to drive unparalleled value to Collingwood clients.
Burns, a long-time veteran of federal housing finance and policy, brings more than two decades of industry experience. Prior to joining The Collingwood Group, Burns served as Senior Associate Director for Housing and Regulatory Policy at the Federal Housing Finance Agency, where she oversaw major regulatory initiatives and mission responsibilities for the government-sponsored enterprises.
She also served as FHFA’s Senior Associate Director for Congressional Affairs and Communications. Burns has held key positions with the Federal Housing Administration and the Department of Housing and Urban Development as well.
“Meg is an incredible asset, and has become an indispensable member of the Collingwood leadership team,” said Brian O’Reilly, President and Co-founder of The Collingwood Group. Brian Montgomery, Collingwood Group Vice Chairman, added: “I am particularly pleased for Meg in her new position as Partner at the firm. Meg was one of my most trusted advisors when I was FHA Commissioner. She consistently provided me with keen insight and thoughtful opinions on a host of housing policy issues. Meg is well regarded throughout our industry and within government housing circles, and we are thrilled she will continue to promote Collingwood’s brand and expertise in her new role of Partner.”
Since joining The Collingwood Group, Burns has used her experience to guide the firm’s clients through a time of unprecedented regulatory and business change. “As the mortgage industry prepares to embark on yet another period of change, Meg’s experience will prove invaluable, and we are so pleased to have Meg alongside us,” said O’Reilly.
In her new role as Partner, Burns will play a more active role in the firm’s long-term strategic development. She will join the firm’s management committee and will lead the firm’s Business Advisory practice.
