SofterWare reports #GivingTuesday donations skyrocketed to 27% over last year for DonorPerfect clients

The DonorPerfect client community saw great success on #GivingTuesday this year. Overall giving grew tremendously, and mobile giving stole the spotlight in the evening hours and resulted in last-minute gifts that lifted totals to an all-time high.

DonorPerfect urged clients to embrace #GivingTuesday as the start of the "giving season".

From a grandiose one-time $355,000 gesture of kindness to a thoughtful $.05 pledge of participation, the DonorPerfect community's 27% growth on #GivingTuesday proves that the saying, “Every little bit helps” is absolutely true.

DonorPerfect Fundraising Software announced today that the thousands of nonprofit organizations that use DonorPerfect to track, manage, and collect donations on #GivingTuesday processed $18,912,403.67.

This 2016 #GivingTuesday total reflects a staggering 27% growth over 2015’s $14.9 million total.

The average online gift amounted to $158.38, while each cash, check, and over-the-phone donation averaged $395.43. The median gift for both was near $50, meaning half of all gifts were more than $50 and half were less.

Other large gift processors, such as PayPal and Blackbaud are also expected to report increases.

#GivingTuesday is both a national day of giving and a social media phenomenon. On this hashtag holiday, communities rally around causes they care about by giving to their favorite nonprofit organizations and sharing their participation on social media.

Equipped with free #GivingTuesday Get-Set Guides and integrated processing to accommodate online, monthly, mobile, and in-person donations, DonorPerfect clients were encouraged to take advantage of their fundraising systems, helpful content, and the social media buzz that makes #GivingTuesday so successful.
