This app was created to expand garbage and recycling options beyond the standard waste management options and give people a choice.

A new mobile app called PICK PINK enables on-demand trash and recycling pickup, even in areas not served by waste management companies or municipalities. A second app, PICK PINK for Haulers, lets anyone earn cash for taking neighbors’ garbage or recycling to the dump.
Customers pay haulers through the app, and a portion of proceeds is donated to cancer research.
PICK PINK and PICK PINK for Haulers are available now for free on the iTunes App Store here:
Customers can schedule either one-time or weekly trash pickup, for one or multiple trash cans as well as large appliances and furniture. Haulers, once registered with their local government as a garbage collector, are assigned one or more service areas with 12 pickup locations each.
PICK PINK estimates that haulers can earn approximately $20 per hour. Haulers are required to pick up all trash in an accepted service area, and customers must securely tie all trash bags. Both haulers and customers can rate the other.
“This app was created to expand garbage and recycling options beyond the standard waste management options and give people a choice, said Brain Elsey, co-founder. The PICK PINK app gives users an easy to use way to coordinate garbage and recycling pickups with haulers, and gives haulers an easy way to manage their work load.”
