The CFO Alliance announces the completion and availability of The CFO Alliance 2016/2017 Mid-Market Executive Compensation Study. The 4th annual benchmark study surveyed more than 6,000 CFOs and executives of mid-sized organizations, both public and private across the United States.
The study is unique by virtue of its mid-market focus, and because this year’s survey allows companies to benchmark the design and types of compensation programs offered to CEOs, CFOs, Controllers, Accounting Managers, Marketing and Sales executives, in addition to identifying and quantifying emerging trends in short-term and long-term incentive compensation programs.
Key study insights include significant differences in compensation by industry sector, company size and region, along with key drivers of changes in short-term and long-term incentive compensation plans. In addition, performance metrics used to determine compensation components are identified and dissected. The survey report also offers an analysis of the effectiveness of compensation programs in impacting the performance of employees relative to key drivers of financial results.
“The annual mid-market executive compensation study always receives great interest from our CFO members, and many segments of the business community. This year’s study added a focus on how and why incentive compensation program components are changing as key drivers of company value continue to shift to the optimization of non-financial assets,” said Nick Araco, CEO of The CFO Alliance. “The study reinforces the growing complexity of executive compensation with detail on both short and long-term compensation.”
The results of this important study will be shared at upcoming CFO Alliance Roundtable Meetings across North America. An Executive Summary of the study results is available for download here.
