As temperatures drop, imagine being homeless with no place to go and being cold, hungry and frightened. Eagle Pointe Church from Acworth is pitching in to help homeless men, women and children by providing free Winter Survival Kits to over 100 homeless families at a special event on Saturday, December 3 in Marietta.

Approximately 100 homeless men, women and children will receive free meals and free winter survival kits containing cold weather gear and supplies on Saturday, December 3 starting at 4 pm at 55 Elizabeth Church Rd., Marietta, GA 30060 in the parking lot in front of Must Ministries.

This is the 6th year Eagle Pointe Church of Acworth has put together Homeless Winter Survival Kits. In addition to coats, jackets and ponchos, the church has been collecting: gloves, hats, hand/feet warmers, blankets, socks, candles, baby wipes, lip balm, batteries (AA/AAA) and tissue packs. Online donations are encouraged, and volunteers are also needed to help at monthly outreach events.

“On the first Saturday of each month, we serve meals to the homeless in front of Must Ministries in Marietta,” said Howard J. Koepka, Lead Pastor of Eagle Pointe Church. “For our December event, we are also handing out the winter weather gear and supplies. Some of these kits will also be delivered to homeless camps that are not within walking distance of our event, and any extras will go to our partners who work with the homeless in downtown Atlanta. We hope to raise awareness and compassion for the homeless members of our community, and encourage other individuals, churches and companies to get involved to make a positive difference.”
