McRib has become a cult classic across the nation, with social communities and locators created by fans to herald and share its arrival.
CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) December 07, 2016
To celebrate the annual appearance of McDonald’s McRib, Chicago-based Cossette Advertising created a seasonal campaign to celebrate the iconic, boneless pork sandwich. The campaign features The World’s First Pork Rock Opera, an original, 10-minute rock opera that follows one man’s journey from McRib skeptic to McRib fanatic. The opera, which features songs like “Let’s Slip Into Something More Comfortable—Like My Stomach, Baby,” as well as four other promising classics, is downloadable at mcribseason.com.
“McRib has become a cult classic across the nation, with social communities and locators created by fans to herald and share its arrival,” said Chuck Rachford, the Executive Creative Director of Cossette Chicago. McRib Season and the opera were composed for the McDonald’s Owners of Chicagoland and Northwestern Indiana. “The season is short, so we wanted to tap into the passion of the fans by giving them songs that help them express their devotion to McRib, not just in Chicagoland, but across the country.”
The McRib Season Web site also features downloadable CD covers and McRib wrapping paper, as well as a link to the locator app. The McRib is available in 82 national markets and McRib Season officially ends on Christmas day.
