Ohlone Soccer Field Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening

Our team is very thankful to have participated in this important project from initiation, through design and construction, and all the way to this fantastic event. Joel Heyne, Project Executive, Gilbane Building Company

Representatives from Ohlone College, Gilbane Building Company, and other local officials were on hand for the dedication and ribbon cutting for the new Ohlone College Soccer Field on November 9, 2016 located on the Fremont Campus on Mission Boulevard. Gilbane Building Company, a leader in construction services, was the construction manager for the project.

The soccer field project was part of an overall effort to update the athletic fields on the campus for safety, accessibility and playability. The soccer field, which was displaced by the installation of the photovoltaic system, was relocated to the north of the softball field. Work included installation of synthetic turf, new spectator seating, scoreboards, and team-rooms. The project provides a centrally located field-house which will serve grounds maintenance, athlete training staff and event operations.

“Here we are in such a beautiful setting on the Fremont campus celebrating the importance of this new facility for the College. After having to use off-site fields for several years, the new soccer field brings this important sport to the athletic department back on campus.” said Joel Heyne, Project Executive, Gilbane Building Company “Our team is very thankful to have participated in this important project from initiation, through design and construction, and all the way to this fantastic event.”
