Outsource Software Tester Shasta QA's Southern Expansion Celebrated
SHREVEPORT, La. (PRWEB) December 14, 2016 -- Northern California-headquartered Shasta QA has continued its commitment to sophisticated U.S.-based outsource software quality assurance partnerships by celebrating the one-year anniversary of its successful Louisiana expansion.
Launched in October 2015, the facility tapped another American talent pool and has grown rapidly, now comprising 15 percent of the company’s QA staff across a range of clients and quality assurance services and partnership levels. Additional staff expansion is planned in the Northwest Louisiana region.
“Like many businesses, we seek opportunity and value, and this region was at the top of a short list,” said Shasta QA Director Chris Milnes. “It has given us a gateway to an untapped well of intelligent, savvy, and committed local tech talent. Intelligence and work ethic are the key ingredients to any successful venture, whether it’s a one-person start-up in a garage, or a 50-year-old, worldwide company.
“Shreveport has provided us those key ingredients and it will only grow as part of Shasta QA’s long-term plans and our philosophy of creating U.S. jobs and keeping them in the U.S.”
Northwest Louisiana’s robust state and local business-centric climate, commitment to smart job growth, and respected nearby universities were the initial attractions, said Milnes. Further research inspired a site visit by Shasta QA executives and Founder Donald O’Connell, which cemented the company’s Bayou State expansion plans.
Shreveport and the northwest Louisiana area is corporate home to CenturyLink, one of the U.S.’s largest telecom companies, and an IBM innovation center. Local universities, including Louisiana State University’s medical school, and Louisiana Tech University, contribute to the region’s growing tech base and workforce.
“As a growing technology company, Shasta QA enhances our vibrant technology sector that has a robust pool of knowledge workers and technology companies,” said Scott Martinez, North Louisiana Economic Partnership President.
Some key categories of recognition for Louisiana and the Shreveport region, according to the NELP, include:
• 2016 - Bossier Parish won a national achievement award for Promoting a Knowledge Economy (National Association of Counties).
• 2015 - Louisiana was ranked No. 1 for low costs associated with new research and development facilities (KPMG Location Matters, 2015).
• 2015 - Shreveport was ranked in the Top 10 of Most Millennial Friendly Cities (Bloomberg Business).
• 2014 - Shreveport/Bossier City was ranked as the third-happiest U.S. city (Harvard University study).
“We were just very impressed when we started interviewing for management and engineers, and have continued to be impressed with their performance,” said Milnes. “We knew right away they would do well with our methodologies, the demands of Silicon Valley, and the fast-paced companies we work with.”
Shasta QA’s portfolio of client partnerships ranges from accounting and medical device software, to media and mobile device apps used daily by millions of people. Quality assurance and management services include automation and manual testing, project management, independent verification and validation, usability testing, and technical documentation.
Projects staffed locally include quality assurance partnerships with cloud, app, and entertainment software development firms. Shasta QA client partners include tantalizing new start-ups and billion-dollar-valued companies led by long-time Silicon Valley tech professionals and powerful venture capitalists.
The Shreveport growth continues Shasta QA’s push into the American heartland, joining the successful expansion to the Iowa City, Iowa area in 2013. Tech professionals in the Midwest’s “Silicon Prairie” have become key contributors for the outsource software quality assurance company and Silicon Valley.
