ATI Nursing Education and Excelsoft Partner to Deliver a Better, Smarter Way for Students to Prepare for ATI TEAS™

Time is precious to aspiring nursing students. For students preparing for the Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS™), a recent collaboration between ATI Nursing Education and Excelsoft promises a better, smarter way to prepare.

OpenPage provides students with the tools to personalize their learning experience and take ownership of the content.

Time is precious to aspiring nursing students. Their days are filled with mastering organic chemistry, researching nursing program, and taking care of the little extras that will make their application stand out in the crowd. When it comes time to prepare for their admissions exam, marching through a traditional print study manual can quickly become a frustrating experience.

ATI TEAS SmartPrep™, an online tutorial that offers 65 unique lessons covering the subjects and concepts that TEAS-takers need to know, allows students to personalize their learning experience by focusing their study time on the subjects and concepts they understand the least, and avoid wasting time on concepts they already know. Content is delivered by dynamic multimedia that engages learners of all types, and frequent comprehension checks determine if a student is ready to move on, or needs to spend more time on a tricky subject.

“We know students are looking for smarter ways to prepare. Millennial students are digital natives, and expect online learning experiences to be more effective than traditional instructional experiences,” said Lisa Heinbach, solution strategist for ATI Nursing Education. “We needed a partner who understood that and offered a platform with the flexibility and power to create a learning experience that meets student expectations for what a learning experience should be,” Heinbach added.

ATI chose Excelsoft Technologies, a leading EdTech company, as their implementation partner to develop and deliver the TEAS SmartPrep tutorial. Combined with robust technology skills, Excelsoft’s consultants also brought deep educational domain experience and worked closely with the ATI teams to conceptualize, prototype and implement the solution – fast.

ATI TEAS Smartprep is delivered using Excelsoft's eTextbook and content delivery platform, OpenPage. SmartPrep is a white-labeled implementation of OpenPage that which features a customized look and feel that is aligned with the ATI brand.

ATI and Excelsoft teams worked together on content production, which was made easy through OpenPage’s powerful publishing tools. Standards-based LTI integrations made it possible to complete the integration between the OpenPage & ATI portals in a matter of weeks.
