Cirque Launches GT5 - Fifth Generation Secure Touch Screen Platform
Salt Lake City, Utah - December 7, 2016 (PRWEB) December 09, 2016 -- Cirque’s is launching our next generation platform for touch screens and secure input solutions, GT5. The GT5 platform is a fifth generation evolution of Cirque’s original and proven capacitive sensing technology that can be found in millions of devices like notebook PCs, game controllers, payment terminals and specialized industrial applications.
GT5 improves upon prior platforms in several areas. High resolution touch panels are supported for improved passive untethered stylus signature capture performance and multi-point finger input. For easy integration into customer designs, GT5 is based on a system-on-chip that combines Cirque’s unique capacitive sensing analog systems with a powerful microprocessor in one chip. Linux and Android drivers will also be available for rapid development.
SecureSense™ is Cirque’s unique technology for secure input. With SecureSense, criminals cannot bug the touch screen to steal sensitive information like PIN numbers. GT5 builds on Cirque’s strong track record of providing solutions like SecureSense for payment terminals. Fundamental improvements in the analog design of the chip increase protection against hacking. As new attacks like overlays and side channel analysis become more common it is essential to utilize a proven platform, and GT5 has been independently shown to be compliant with the stringent requirements of the payment industry for PIN data protection (PCI PTS v4.x).
While ideal for secure payment terminals, GT5 is also a compelling solution for other markets. High performance multi-point tracking and the ability to operating in harsh environments makes GT5 a great fit for industrial and rugged consumer applications. For projects where touch screen data security is essential such as building access and identity verification GT5 with SecureSense offers unique security advantages for companies looking to enhance their product.
