IT solutions provider TekLinks Inc.has announced it has acquired Nashville-based Guidant Partners. Founded in 1988, Guidant is a privately-owned IT planning and management firm that provides scalable IT infrastructure service to small- to medium-size businesses.

The acquisition strategically increases TekLinks’ presence in the Tennessee market and grows the company’s managed services business. TekLinks’ Nashville presence will grow nearly 50 percent due to the acquisition. Both TekLinks and Guidant’s clients will benefit from a deeper network of talent as the company will now boast about 350 team members throughout Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and the Gulf Coast.

“Teklinks is on the leading edge of both cloud and public cloud services,” says Guidant Partners CEO Steve Burgess. “We recognize them as a leader in the next wave of managed IT services for companies. As a 28-year-old company, we were looking for a partner that fit our culture and goals. The coming together of our businesses is quality meeting quality.”

Based in Birmingham, Ala., TekLinks is a national leader in cloud computing, managed services, engineering services, and value-added resale. The team of expert techies and business professionals aim to build valuable relationships and get things done right.

“Guidant is our most respected competitor in the Nashville market,” says TekLinks CEO Jim Akerhielm. “Joining forces with Guidant will help to solidify our growth in the Nashville market. This is a natural fit because the business exemplifies our core purposes of loving our team, delighting our customers, and serving our community. We’re looking forward to a bright future together.”
