BH Tech Connection Now Promoting Gender Equality in Tech Fields
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 11, 2016 -- BH Tech Connection has operated now for over a year and a half, and one of the most challenging questions asked is, “Why are you doing this?” Owner and IT Consultant Brady Helkenn speaks to this, and provides the answer:
"I'm enjoying myself immensely and meeting many business owners like me, but what am I trying to accomplish? When we shop around, it quickly becomes clear that IT consulting businesses remain predominantly male-centric. While I don’t have a personal preference for my employees’ gender, the existing inequality is jarring and disquieting. I wish to do something about this situation."
When people donate to charity, they send monthly or sporadic contributions for a cause in which they believe, and then may decide to stop their donations when money gets tight. As a business, BH Tech Connection is in a unique position to do something different.
Effective immediately, a portion of BH Tech Connection's revenue will be donated towards organizations designed to encourage women and minorities to pursue careers in technology. Most of these organizations are focused on programming, but the tentacles reach IT consulting and other related fields.
