London, UK (PRWEB) December 16, 2016
Two UK geo-software companies have integrated and launched a major new feature in today’s release of the Move suite of geological tools. The new 3D PDF publishing feature from Visual Technology Services, the software of choice for many commercial Oil & Gas clients, has been enhanced to revolutionise the sharing of Move files using sophisticated 3D PDF conversion functionality from PDF3D.
For over three decades, Midland Valley - the world-class geoscientists behind Move - have forged new approaches and techniques that allow users to unravel unseen, historical geological data. The software allows those in the field to not only reduce technical uncertainties, risk and costs when interpreting multiple data formats, but also provides a platform in which to reconstruct, validate and present findings. Today, Move software is the only suite to offer a complete range of tools to carry out geometrically constrained model building and kinematic analysis in 2D and 3D space.
This latest release of Move™ shows the result of significant investment into improving and adding new features for professionals working with hidden, historical kinematic transformations of geological structures.
Move processes data for a unique type of modelling, one that involves geological structures that have evolved through time under the surface. The software uses computer models that can convert geo-data into rich, visual 3D animations that play-back the dramatic geological transformations from history. Now, with the new addition of 3D PDF conversion functionality from PDF3D, these animations can now also be exported and shared in a format that will transform workflow and decision-making.
“This is the first time it has been possible to export Move files into rich 3D PDF animations that can be easily shared and viewed by anyone who has access to the free Adobe reader. It will transform the way users communicate their data to others, saving significant cost and time in the process,” explained Ian Curington of PDF3D. “We’ve known and admired Midland Valley for many years and we’re delighted to have been involved in this latest enhancement of their incredible software. There is no doubt in the value this will bring to scientists in the O&G industry.”
