Eddie B. Saxton has completed his new book “Come Sundown”: a compendium of the author's innermost dreams and thoughts.

After dropping out of Dusable High School in his sophomore year, Eddie joined Job Corps before enlisting in the United States Army for three years. Through years of observation, hard times, and tribulations Eddie has come to the mindset of calmness and even being a little bit wiser, he’s still somewhat dysfunctional at times. Eddie feel as if he’s infallible when his mind descends into places that’s deep within and unknown to him. Eddie tried putting all of his dysfunctional thoughts into the book "Come Sundown." He wandered aimlessly in and out of the darkest parts of his mind and at the most difficult times in his life, failed marriages, and the stress and strain of being an unemployed single parent which left him drained of his sanity. From early childhood until the time that Eddie started to feel his dysfunctional mind taking control and leaving him with highs and lows that he couldn’t conceive, meditation and his deep dark mind-boggling thoughts reveal precious moments about people, places, and things around him. Eddie knows now that he had to live the life that he lived in order to write this book. The dark clouds that hang over his head, the dreams and thoughts that penetrated his very soul, are uncompromising and leaving him with boundless illusions. Eddie can’t forget about the turbulent years that opened a floodgate of problems that gradually took control of an already dysfunctional frigid mind. He is a Christian and wholeheartedly, with all his heart and soul, he puts his faith in the sovereign God of the universe and His son, Jesus.

Eddie hopes that, "This book will leave you in awe of the past and incite you to ponder the future, luring you into reconsidering the value of family and friends. I try adding a little humor to some of my poems so that all won’t seem morbid or come from an irrational mind. We all have mountains to climb and rivers to cross, there are loves we’ve gained and so many precious ones we’ve lost. This book gives us a chance to look at life from different perspectives."

He continues, "Sometimes we seem to be drowning in a sea of non-conforming progression and yet there are anomalies that come into our lives which give us hope. We fantasize and we dream. You will find yourself descending deep into your own world of boundless thoughts and misconceptions. You will feel the gravitational pull into my mind and the challenges of yours, which allows a glimpse into the inner workings of an overactive mind. Not only does this book look at things from a dysfunctional point of view, it also takes a gentle look at the spiritual part of life."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Eddie B Saxton’s poetic meanderings takes the reader on a trip into the realms of an altered state of being.

There are poems that will take the reader into the author's world of pragmatic thought, the invasion of a dysfunctional or semi-dysfunctional mind, and his state of reasoning, which will seem mind-boggling at times. It contains memorable times of his youth, some fond and some about personal struggles and growing up on the south side of Chicago.
